Caesar Of Cymatics

+ special guests

Caesar Of Cymatics is a solo-created, collaborative project created by 16 year old Tom Clegg (preferably known as Caesar in his act). The songs written in his room include ideas of identity, romance, isolation and the questions of where are we, why are we here and how did we get here? Taking influences from such genres as Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Post-Punk, folk and general alternative music with bands such as The Chameleons, The Smiths and The Velvet Underground to name a few.

Learning his first two chords at the age of 11 and writing his first few songs at the end of 2020, the project became up and running after his dad’s friend, Oz Cooper, invited him over to record some tracks in late 2021, but the full project would not come together and start being released until his first single “It’s Plain Knowing” released in November 2022. Since then, Caesar has amassed a small online following as well as somewhat of a name in the local scene through handing out free CDs of his music on Oldham Street in record shops and Afflecks. He then got in contact with promoters such as Scruff Of The Neck and Dusty Pop Entertainment, leading to him getting his first two gigs at Manchester Academy 3 and Club Academy as well as continuing to write and create a multitude of songs with his new producer, Dylan Flint.

This brings us to now, where Caesar recently played a sold out gig at the Deaf Institute, released a compilation CD, compiling his first year as Caesar Of Cymatics and has recently released a new single called Sunday Mourn and is now in preparation for his first headliner.
