Deco Xmas Bash – ChupaCabra Tinmole SpringfieldElementary + more

We are celebrating the silly season in style with some of our favourite bands from the past year’s gigs.

We love ’em, we know you do too… it’s only bloody Chupa Cabra back headlining for us!!

One generation or another’s alienation, derangement and dirty washing, projected back at you through Chupa Cabra’s Nauseating, salivating, hypnotizing, no good sucker-punch-piss-yourself polystyrene agitator Blues….

Tin Mole

Impressed early on in the killer line-up we had supporting Tangerinecat at Gulliver’s earlier in the year. So we have brought them back and not a moment too soon!

Springfield Elementary

Another bunch of Deco Records’ favourite sons we’ve not seen them on a bill since July, 5 months is long enough and here they are back with us.

Known to ‘smash their stage time into tiny minuscule bits’, Springfield Elementary don’t just play gigs. Made up by Billy Goodwin (Vocals/Guitar), Brad Lewis (Lead Guitar), Liam Moffat (Bass) and Chris Tomkinson (Drums), the psychedelic four-piece were born out of blind optimism that – as a band – they could salvage some credibility for themselves (one broken guitar string at a time).

Chew Magna

They haven’t played since our first Peer Hat All-Dayer back in February, a long awaited return for these guys.

“Channelling ’90s royalty such as Sebadoh, Pavement and Built to Spill, Chew Magna’s, “Plenary” is two minutes of skittering slacker-rock that harbours all the DIY sentiment and punk energy of that era, while retaining more than a degree of poppy melodies buried beneath it’s layers of fuzz.” – Louder Than War

SWINE

Punk noise mixed with a mesh of different genres to create their own sound. Anyone who has seen this band before, will tell you they have a great live show with their energetic stage presence. Their recent single “They Hate Us” is an absolute banger, the quartet deliver the track with great gusto from the start, bellowing, eerie vocals are collided with crunching riffs and thumping beats.

This is Swine’s fourth outing for us this year after appearances at The Railway, The Eagle for the double-dayer back in July and more recently showing-out for the Halloween all-dayer right here at Retro, Don’t be a numpty, get down early and make sure you catch their set.

And to finish off, our good friend Richey from Heart of Glass will be spinning all the best tunes for you til the wee hours.Lots of fun, frolics and surprises in store for our last show of what has been an amazing year for us and our bands. Thanks for your ongoing support and hoppe to see more of you joining us into 2020.
